Morning Pointe Foundation and the Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa senior living community are proud to announce that Haden Hall and Shelby Johnson have been selected as the Shelton State Community College 2022 Morning Pointe Foundation scholars. The faculty of Shelton State nominated these students for this prestigious scholarship due to their high grades, skill, and dedication in pursuit of a career in nursing.
Shannon Chandler, Director of Development at Shelton State commented on Morning Pointe’s support saying, “The partnership between The Shelton State Foundation and Morning Pointe is an important one. Due to the generosity of Morning Pointe, this opportunity for students to further their education in healthcare has provided a personal pathway for success. The SSCC Foundation is excited to see the growth of this scholarship for two deserving students.”
“This scholarship will lift a huge weight off of me for this upcoming semester,” said Shelby Johnson. “Because of your generosity, I won’t have to work so many late-night shifts or worry as much about my expenses. Bless you guys!” Johnson plans to continue her education as a nurse in the geriatric field.
Morning Pointe anticipates the growing need for qualified caregivers as a large segment of the population continues to age. Through scholarship support, the Morning Pointe Foundation partners with colleges and universities to graduate excellent healthcare professionals. Both Hall and Johnson join the ranks of nursing students throughout Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky who receive the Morning Pointe Foundation scholarship each year.
“It is a privilege to be able to reward the hard work and dedication of promising nursing students,” said Amy Clarke, interim executive director of the Morning Pointe Foundation. “Through these scholarships, the Morning Pointe Foundation aspires to provide hope and encouragement to future geriatric nurses so that they will be able to provide that same hope and encouragement while serving our seniors.”
Since its inception in 2014, the Morning Pointe Foundation has awarded over 65 scholarships through 12 community colleges and universities. The Morning Pointe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living and was founded in 2014 by senior healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and Franklin Farrow. The 501(c)3 nonprofit public service organization provides caregiver support programs, sponsors educational awareness events, and funds clinical scholarships to advance the care of seniors.
