Morning Pointe Foundation and Morning Pointe Senior Living are proud to announce that Erica Moody and Elizabeth Westmoreland have been selected as the Cleveland State Community College 2022 Morning Pointe Foundation scholars. The faculty of Cleveland State nominated these students for this prestigious scholarship due to their high grades, skill, and dedication in pursuit of a career in nursing.
“Cleveland State is very appreciative of Morning Pointe Foundation’s support for nursing students,” said Dr. John Squires, Executive Director of Advancement and Planning at Cleveland State. “Their commitment to student success in the healthcare industry is making a difference to both the college and community.”

Morning Pointe anticipates the growing need for qualified caregivers as a large segment of the population continues to age. Through scholarship support, the Morning Pointe Foundation partners with colleges and universities to graduate excellent healthcare professionals. Both Moody and Westmoreland join the ranks of nursing students throughout Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky who receive the Morning Pointe Foundation scholarship each year.

“The Morning Pointe nursing scholarship was helpful for me in my final year of nursing school,” said Moody. “Nursing school takes full dedication and I could not work as much, so this scholarship helped me meet financial demands and focus solely on my education. I was able to do my best in school as a result and I am so thankful for that!”

“It is a privilege to be able to reward the hard work and dedication of promising nursing students,” said Amy Clarke, interim executive director of the Morning Pointe Foundation. “Through these scholarships, the Morning Pointe Foundation aspires to provide hope and encouragement to future nurses so that they will be able to provide that same hope and encouragement while serving our seniors.”

Since its inception in 2014, the Morning Pointe Foundation has awarded over 65 scholarships through 12 community colleges and universities. The Morning Pointe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living and was founded in 2014 by senior healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and Franklin Farrow. The 501(c)3 nonprofit public service organization provides caregiver support programs, sponsors educational awareness events, and funds clinical scholarships to advance the care of seniors.
