Curt Bicknell, Pharm.D., president of Guardian Pharmacy, and Gayle Lee, RN, account manager and nurse educator with Guardian, will present “Senior Medications and Fall Risks” during the Morning Pointe Foundation’s free webinar on Tuesday, May 9.
Bicknell has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, and Lee is a board-certified gerontological nurse. They will discuss common risk factors for falls, distinguish preventable falls from non-preventable ones, pinpoint contributing factors, review psychotropic medications commonly linked to falls and provide strategies for seniors to lower their fall risk.
“I think we think sometimes that just because it’s something you can buy over the counter that it’s benign,” said Bicknell. “There are quite a few medications that are over-the-counter that contribute to fall risk as well.”
The live Caregiver Café webinar will start at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Following the presentation, participants can ask live questions over Zoom. Registrants will also be able to watch the recorded session later.
